MLS (Major League Soccer) is America’s highest professional level league for soccer, which started in 1993. The league consists of 27 teams who put their maximum effort to stand out among the others in the league. They do not only work throughout the year to enhance their performance but also work on their appearance. While players are getting hyped up for the MLS season, fans also wait anxiously to receive the new kits and uniforms when the teams roll them out each year for the event. 2021 MLS was no different. All 27 teams came up with their extravagantly designed uniforms and kits. We have ranked top 2021 MLS jerseys so that you can make your custom soccer jerseys under the light of our power ranking.
Philadelphia Union
The Philadelphia Union’s uniforms and kits, BY|U, are adorned with lightning bolts. The sky blue is the perfect backdrop for the bolts. This combination represents the popular kite experiment from Benjamin Franklin. The same is represented by an emblem of key and kite on the back of jerseys’ neck. The jersey depicts the history of Philadelphia in an inventive way.
LA Galaxy
The Galaxy jerseys are simple yet powerful in their looks. The momentous black and teal stripes take you back to the team of 1997 till 1999. LA Galaxy uniforms and jerseys honor all those people who have been standing beside the team all these years. Designing 2021 jerseys as a reminder of an unrivaled history of the steam was a smart call that takes LA jerseys to the top positions of MLS jersey power ranking.
Chicago Fire FCT
The team brought forward its two brand-new kits and uniform for MLS 2021. Both were given the name of Lakefront,” but the second option was exceptionally attractive with thin navy stripes on a white backdrop. The overall look gives Chicago’s flag illusion to the onlookers. The six-pointed stars are watermarked among the stripes. If we see the aspect of city inspiration in this year’s MLS jersey designs, the Fire’s Lakefront has flawlessly pulled off the show.
FC Dallas
FC Dallas has entered with 2021 MLS with a “Community” kit. The FCD jersey’s powder blue color is almost nonexistent in the league this year. The blue and red in the texas flag and club crest on the jersey breasts looks like specks of colors on the soft background of powder blue. The overall design reminds us of the jersey that France wore en route to the 2018 World Cup. The soft jersey on the die-hard Dallas team was a sight to behold on the MLS fields this year.
Colorado Rapids
Colorado’s “Class 5” kit holds history in its name. The kit’s name pays homage to the difficult climbing routes of 14,000-foot peaks of the city. The topographic patterns embossed on the jerseys reflect the six most difficult mountains of the range. The minty green sleeves hems and double lines on the shoulder depict the club’s roots that meet the past in 1996 roots. The shirt has an incredible look, not possible to capture in a picture.
New York Red Bulls
The New York Red Bull kit “1Beat” pays tribute to the Red Bull Arena. The Arena once used to be scattered with checkerboard flags in the supporters’ section. The scene somehow provided an exceptional inspiration to the team for their jersey design. The jersey shows their home New Jersey by incorporating “J” in its back-of-the-neck monogram of “NY.” Where NY is the club, New Jersey is the home for the team.
Sporting Kansas City
Sporting Kansas brought back the hoops they adorned between 2014 and 2017. However, the new ones look cleaner to maintain the traditional classy appearance of the clubs’ kits. The “SKC” on the back of jerseys’ neck also brings back the element that the team has been using throughout the past decade.
Inter Miami CF
The kit is named “Palma” for obvious reasons. The palm leaves are embossed all across the black backdrop of the jersey. The club has once more proved its capability of detailing by incorporating an elegant blue trim under the shirttail, representing the national park of Miami, Biscayne Bay. However, it’s a nice touch but not very obvious to the eyes, which pushes the jersey a little down on our ranking.
The LAFC
“Heart of Gold” is the name for LAFC’s kit this year. It was a bold step from the club to introduce a gold jersey. The color represents conductivity, resilience, radiance, sunshine, and warmth of Los Angeles. The boldness is somewhat softened by toning down the hue than we were expecting. The club says that going with anything righter would have given the yellow or mustard look rather than gold.
Atlanta United FC
Atlanta United FC introduced the “BLVCK” kit this year. The design has very innovatively incorporated the five stripes of Atlants in the black jersey. The five pinstripes in the striking red go down the middle of the jersey. The overall look is simple, yet effective and the bold color combination gives a forceful yet clean appearance to the players.
Austin FC
The Austin FC has come up with a good kit after a very long time. The jerseys are unique and look high quality as if the club was in no hurry to meet the inaugural season with just off-the-rack threads. The only thing that pushes jerseys to the bottom part of the list is that the look feels a little forced. The “Yetti,” written in bold white font across the broad green and black stripes and the intertwined trees in the crest, will start making sense after a longer look at the jerseys.
