Old Goa

Goa is always fun, be it old Goa or new Goa, the entire feature, climate, and setting of the city is such that you would fall in love with the city. It is the magnificent old Portugal style place, and all the churches are in the design of the same architecture. The churches and the Cathedral in Goa are the largest in India, and also in Asia. Some of the old buildings have become archeological museums. This rich architecture of Goa gives a royal setting and backdrop to the city on the beaches.

One of the most interesting buildings in Old Goa is the Convent and Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, built-in 1521. Just opposite is the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which contains the preserved remains of the body of Saint Francis Xavier, a revered missionary and the patron saint of Goa.
