Old Goa
Goa is always fun, be it old Goa or new Goa, the entire feature, climate, and setting of the city is such that you would fall in love with the city. It is the magnificent old Portugal style place, and all the churches are in the design of the same architecture. The churches and the Cathedral in Goa are the largest in India, and also in Asia. Some of the old buildings have become archeological museums. This rich architecture of Goa gives a royal setting and backdrop to the city on the beaches.
One of the most interesting buildings in Old Goa is the Convent and Church of Saint Francis of Assisi, built-in 1521. Just opposite is the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which contains the preserved remains of the body of Saint Francis Xavier, a revered missionary and the patron saint of Goa. His body is shown to the public every year and the people of Goa have much faith in it.
Spice Plantation
This is another major highlight of Goa, we have heard that most of the spices in India are grown in Rajasthan and Gujarat. But the name of Goa does not shine in this category, but here is the twist, lies here. Spice plantation is one of the main key features of Goa which makes it famous in the country. The indian spice plantation is in a very dense forest known as Ponda. The lush tropical climate of Goa makes it capable of making it suitable for any kind of plantation. The same feature makes it most appropriate for spice plantation in Goa. The forest and the farms are open to the visitors along with guides.
The most acclaimed plantations as well as the oldest one in Goa is the 130-acre Sahakari Spice Farm, located around 40 minutes from Panaji. Some of the others are Tropical Spice Plantation, Savoi Plantation, and Pascoal Spice Village. The accommodation facility is reasonable for both families and backpackers. Also you can go for elephant rides and boat rides at a cheap price.
