Growth Scan
Growth and Dopplers Scan is performed to determine how much your baby has gained weight in the third trimester. It can be done at any time, but usually, between the 28th to 32nd weeks and another at 36 to 40 weeks of pregnancy. Dr. Neha Gupta is the best fetal medicine specialist who will guide you through this process.
What is its use?
It is very important to check the baby’s growth, fluid around the baby, and blood flows. It is done to see that your baby is growing appropriately, neither too weak nor too large.
How is it done?
You have to lie on the couch and a gel is then applied to your belly. A probe is moved over the belly to examine the baby’s body.
Dopplers Scan
A Doppler scan is also used to assess the blood flows to the baby. It is used to assess the blood flow via the umbilical cord and around different parts of the baby’s body, such as the brain and tummy which helps to show if the baby is getting adequate blood from the placenta.
