Elie Hirschfeld, a real estate developer and a major supporter of President Donald Trump, has just sold his East Hampton home for $29 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Somewhat ironically, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton rented the home, at 211 Lily Pond Lane, for two summers in 2011 and 2012. They reportedly didn’t stay another year due to security concerns.
During the election, Hirschfeld said that he was friends with both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, but endorsed Trump because he is “a giant and I would invest with him anytime, and this country would be well-served by having this man as President of the United States.”
According to the property’s listing agent, Rebekah Baker of Sotheby’s International Realty, the home typically rents for between $350,000 and $500,000 for the entire summer. Hirschfeld bought it in 1996 for $3.2 million and poured money into renovating it.
The 10,000-square-foot home comes with 200 feet of ocean frontage, eight bedrooms, and six fireplaces. The buyer was not disclosed but was represented by Ed Petrie of Compass.
