With technology integrated into our everyday lives, many activities have been simplified, in which we exchange money. Now, with online money transfer, consumers can send and receive money using the app on their phones and some simple channels.

Whether you give someone for lunch or need to pay a freelancer’s invoice, apps like the Cash app allow users to send and receive money without removing their wallet or going to an ATM.

With the Cash app, users can use their balance in the app to make purchases at retailers that accept Visa for cash cards. You can also use your cash card to withdraw money from ATMs.

How to request a Cash Card

  1. Unlock your iPhone or Android and launch the cash app. Then, tap on the Cash Card icon from the bottom left of the screen.
  2. Tap on the green “Command” button.
  3. On the next page, choose the color you want to sport your cash card. Until now, you can only choose between black or white.
  4. On the next page, choose whether or not you want your specific $ Cashtag to appear on your card. Tap the toggle for yes or no – if the toggle is green it means that your $ cashtag will be on the front of your card, and if your $ cashtag will not be on your card.

On this screen you can add your signature or drawing by tapping on the box that says “Tap to customize.” Draw whatever you want in the box using your finger, or tap on the smiley face icon at the bottom of the screen to select the icon or pre-prepared letters.

  1. On the next page, enter the place in which you want to send your cash card. Tap on the green “Next” button to confirm.
  2. On the next page, confirm your first and last name, which will be printed on your card. Tap “Next”.
  3. Enter your date of birth. Note, you must be at least 18 to request a cash card. Tap “Next”.
  4. Finally, enter the last four digits of your social security number. Tap “Next”.
  5. A page should confirm how your card was requested. Tap on “Continue”.
  1. From here, you will be redirected to a page where you can add funds to your card. Enter in the amount you want to add or tap the small gray “X” on the top-right of the screen to exit.

Once you place an order for your cash card, you will have to wait 10 business days for your card to arrive. Remember, you must be 18 or over to order a cash card.

How to activate your cash card using QR code

  1. Unlock your mobile device and launch the cash app.
  2. On the Cash App home screen, tap the Cash Card icon from the left side at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap “Activate Cash Card” to begin.
  4. The application will then ask you to use your camera to scan the QR code found on your cash app card. Align your camera with the code and hold it until it is in focus. Once you line up the QR code with the camera on your device, your cash card will be officially activated and ready for use.

How to activate your cash card without QR code

  1. Unlock your mobile device and launch the cash app.
  2. On the Cash App home screen, tap the Cash Card icon from the left side at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the next screen, tap “Activate Cash Card” to begin.
  4. Instead of using your camera, tap on the “Missing QR Code” button and select “Use CVV instead”.
  5. Enter the CVV code and expiration date located on your new cash card. Once you enter this information, your cash card will be set up and ready for use.
