To get a Global Talent Visa, an applicant must be reviewed by an organisation related to the qualifying field. Tech Nation is the designated endorsing body authorised to assess individuals who are wishing to come to the UK under Global Talent Visa as an exceptionally talented or promising individual specifically in the digital technology sector.
Global Talent Visa Eligibility
With Global Talent Visa, each applicant is expected to demonstrate a successful career history to the endorsing body (Tech Nation) as an innovator either in the form of a recognized leader in the digital technology industry (exceptional talent) or as an emerging leader in the digital technology industry (exceptional promise).

Typical Applicants
Tech Nation accepts applications from Technical applicants that are as capable to demonstrate proven technical expertise by employing the latest technologies in order to deploy or exploit a technology stack and fabricate technical infrastructure. Examples of technical skills include Principal software engineers/developers, DevOps/ SysOps engineers, Cybersecurity experts, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language, Hardware engineers, experienced front-end developers, experienced UI/UX designers, experienced mobile app developers, and virtual and augmented reality developers.
Tech Nation also accepts business applicants that demonstrate a proven investment, commercial, or product expertise in significant digital product businesses. Examples of business skills include leading substantial VC investment, experience as a commercial/business lead, the experience of expanding product-led digital technology business, sector-specific experience, Solution Sales experts, SaaS for digital service, performance marketing experts, and experience of C Suite for digital business.
The Application process
Global Talent Visa Application involves the two application stages:
Stage 1- Application for Endorsement– This stage involves assessing skills, abilities, and achievements by the endorsing body (Tech Nation) and thereby advises the Home Office if the candidate can be endorsed. This stage takes around 8 weeks to be processed.
Stage 2: Application for Visa: the endorsing body (Tech Nation) is not involved in this stage. The Home Office takes into consideration immigration aspects which take approximately 3 weeks.
Documents & Evidence
An applicant must provide all Global Talent Visa documents to allow the application to be assessed smoothly.
Document Checklist:
- An applicant can find a complete Tech Nation Visa Application Form which includes a personal statement where the applicant declares about the contribution that he or she will make to the UK digital technology sector. An applicant must mention the reason for visiting the UK, planned occupation in the UK, region the applicant is planning to live in, and how the UK digital technology sector will benefit from your work.
- Curriculum Vitae that clearly states the career and relevant publication history.
- Three recommendation letters signed by the distinguished senior members of the different establishments in the digital technology sector. The signatories must be familiar with the applicant’s contribution and must be qualified enough to assess the applicant’s claim to be a leader or potential candidate. These letters must be dated and typed with the organisation logo and registered address, clearly specifying Global Talent application, signed by an authorised member of the organisation. These letters must include details of the author’s credentials, applicant’s achievements in the qualifying field, applicant’s benefit of staying in the UK, and future professional engagements.
- 10 pieces of evidence demonstrating relevant key & qualifying eligibility criteria. The candidate must provide evidence to support one key and two qualifying criteria, and evidence of any active businesses that have been dissolved in the last 5 years. The candidate must clearly specify the supporting documents that relate to the eligibility criteria in the Tech Nation application.
If Tech Nation finds fraudulent evidence submitted, the application will be disqualified for consideration and the Home Office will be informed immediately.

Key Criteria
- The Candidate must provide evidence of significant product-led technology businesses that the candidate has established as a founder or senior executive no matter currently active or dissolved in the last five years.
- The candidate must submit evidence of day-to-day profession that not only recognizes work outside the immediate occupation and contributes to the advancement of the sector.
Qualifying Criteria
- Documents that support employment contracts with salary information that includes bonus and equity options.
- Letter from an employer which is in addition to the required letters.
- Documentation that clearly notifies the candidate’s contribution.
- GitHub account that establishes the point of your continuing contribution.
- Evidence of your well-reviewed book on digital technology.
- A letter from a leading industry expert describing the contribution.
- Evidence supporting clear progression and achievement as far as technical or commercial skills are concerned.
- Evidence supporting the candidate’s knack on experimenting with the new technologies.
- Evidence supporting the candidate’s expertise to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the on-going sectoral trends.
- Evidence supporting valuable domain knowledge that has been acquired through experience at a senior level.
- Evidence to demonstrate awards received for remarkable applied work.
- A letter of support from the expert in the applicant’s area of expertise that affirms potential world-class standards.
