Bogota, Colombia, is undoubtedly one of the best places to go in South America. They’re rich in culture, history, art, but there is no shortage of the modern comfort that we’ve all gotten used to either. Take a quick look at the luxury apartments in Chico, Bogota and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
Parque 93 – or Park 93 – is a large park where people gather to idle time away or watch concerts. The place is also surrounded by some of the best restaurants, cafes, bars, and nightclubs in the city. It’s also in close proximity to some of the best establishments you’ll want to check out. You’ll also find a lot of hotels and apartments in the area, and for good reason.
Read on to find out why staying here is something you should do!
1. Beautiful Park
Of course, the park itself is beautiful. It’s in an affluent part of town, and they put in the effort to keep it clean and safe for everyone.
Take an idyllic walk or sit on a bench and soak in the people – or read a book. You’ll also see many people sitting or lying down on the grass.
It’s pretty serene during the day, but it also frequently hosts art installments and festivals. There’s always something going on at night too, such as a concert.
2. The Food and Drinks
Like I said earlier, this place is surrounded by some of the best restaurants in the city. You’ll have many options from the upscale restaurant to the humble pub.
Gato Negro has been around since 1996 and is one of the most intimate and romantic restaurants in town and often recommended by locals. It’s one of the more trendy places, so expect excellent service. For a similar ambiance, head to La Fabbrica or BreraRestaurante.
If you want great food and a great view of the city skyline, check out Vista Corona. La Xarcuteria is also a bar with an excellent view – they have great burgers! Speaking of great burgers, you may also want to try Chef Burger Parque 93. They serve American fastfood, and are also vegetarian-friendly.
BotanicusTiendais another amazing little café and possibly the perfect place to grab coffee and a little bite to eat. If you like bubble tea, there’s also the Bubble Tea Bar where they sell the milk tea you’ve come to know and love as well as local flavors like the uber-popular lulo or passion fruit-flavored tea.
Like I said, you’ll have many, many options for food.
3. Spas and Wellness Center
Some of the best spas and wellness centers are also in this area (hey, it’s an affluent neighborhood after all).
Serenity Float Center is one of the best spa experiences you’ll find in the country. You can get a traditional spa experience, or also float your worries away – and it’s something you should try at least once (and if you’ve tried it once, you’ll probably try it more).
Spa des Elements is a French inspired spa right next to Park 93, and Baw Thai Spa brings a beautiful authentic Thai spa experience – everything from the decoration to the aromas used are all from Thailand. Of course, so are the massage therapists.
Want a different wellness experience? Check out the Smash Boxing Gym on Cra. 14 # 87-46.
There are a few more spas and wellness centers in the area, so look around and see what calls to you.
4. Shopping
If you’re visiting a place, of course you want to buy something to bring home with you or bring gifts to loved ones.
There are plenty of shopping areas in and around Parque 93 like the shopping mall Centro de DisenoPortobelo, Centro 93 torrenorte, OndademarVestidos de BañoParque de la 93, and so many other places you’re sure to find anything you want or need within the vicinity of such a small area.
Convinced yet?
There are also museums in the area, and other major parts of the city are accessible from here. Whatever your reason for coming to the city, you’re sure to find everything that you need if you stay near Parque 93.
