Chopta Valley

How to get there: Chopta is well connected with roads that can be moved and even has a bus service from Rishikesh. Shared taxis are also available from major destinations such as Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi.
Hemkund Sahib
A popular shrine for Sikhs and Hindus, Hemkunt Sahib is heaven on earth. The gurudwara is in a picturesque location with a pristine lake in front and snow-capped mountains in the background. The whole hike looks lovely surrounded by dense forests and numerous waterfalls. The weather here changes from sunny to misty in the blink of an eye. Please note: The place is not connected with motorized roads. You will have to walk for days to get here. But the breathtaking views are worth all the effort.

How to get there: Govindghat is the last head of the engine. From this point, you will have to travel 13 km to get here.
Auli
With a reputation as Mini Switzerland of India, Auli is a center of neatness and charm. The place is known for its snowy slopes in winters and is equally fascinating in summers. The hill station is surrounded by the remarkable peaks of Nanda Devi, Hathi Ghoda and Kamet and offers various hiking and trekking routes. Highly Suggested: Badrinath is only one hour from Auli. Try to make time and stop at one of the Hindu dhams.

How to get there: Auli is well connected to roads. You can take shared taxis from Haridwar / Dehradun to Joshimath. From here, you can find shared taxis to Auli and Badrinath.
Harsil
Don’t take Harsil as a small town as it is a quiet little paradise in Uttarakhand. Situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi, you will find all peace and harmony in this village. Don’t do anything and just go for a walk and who knows what you might trip on.
Please note: Harsil only has a few guesthouse options. You won’t find anything luxurious here.
Why should you go? Explore the trekking trails around the town and go bird watching.
How to get there: It is 72 km from Uttarkashi. You can take your car as public transport is difficult to find.
