Introduction to Design Scholarship Test

The Design Scholarship Test (DST) is a pivotal examination exclusively conducted for aspiring designers seeking admission and scholarships at MIT ID Indore, part of Avantika University. Entry Requirement for Various Design Programs:

  • For Bachelor of Design (BDes): Academic qualification: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education from any stream (State Board/CBSE/ICSE/ISC/CIE/IB/NIOS or equivalent exam). Aggregate marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 12th examination.
  • For Master of Design (MDes): Academic qualification: A candidate should be a graduate from any stream (10+2+3). Aggregate marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the graduation degree.

DST Scholarships:

  • 50% Scholarship: Awarded to students scoring 90% and above in DST.
  • 25% Scholarship: Awarded to students with scores ranging between 80 – 90 % in DST.

Important Dates:

  • The exam will be held on December 17, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • Results will be declared on January 5, 2024
  • TCPI commences January 8, 2024 onwards.

Admissions Procedure and Guidelines:

  • Step 1: Register for DST. Importantly, there is no application fee for DST registration, making it accessible to all.
  • Step 2: After registration, you will receive an automated confirmation email with login credentials. Use these details to complete the application form.
  • Step 3: Provide the necessary details in the application form.
  • Step 4: Upload a passport-size photograph, accept the declaration, and submit the online application form.
  • Step 5: For online exam mode, upon successful application scrutiny, candidates will receive a test link via email. This link will include login credentials, system requirements, and examination rules and regulations.
  • Step 6: After the completion of DST Round 1, results will be declared, and qualified candidates will be informed about Round 2. The qualified candidates must submit their portfolio, limited to a maximum file size of 10 MB.
  • Step 7: Round 2, known as The Thinking Challenge (Studio Test), is followed by Personal Interviews (PI) conducted online via Zoom. Qualified candidates will select a date for their TCPI.
  • Step 8: Following the evaluation of both rounds, successful candidates will receive an Offer Letter.
  • Step 9: Prospective students must accept the offer letter and make the required fee payment within the specified timeframe to confirm their admission.
  • The scholarship criteria are determined based on the combined marks obtained in both rounds of the DST. The Admission Committee manages the admission procedures and determines the weightage for each criterion.
